Anyone using the rifle range must sign in and sign out. No exceptions. Don’t risk the loss of your membership. All ranges are under 24 hour camera surveillance. 

It is that time of the year again when the rifle range gets busy. Please read all rules prior to shooting. Be courteous and observant while on the range.  Most of all, be safe.

Outdoor Rifle Range Hours

  • Monday – Saturday – 7:00 AM until DUSK
  • Sunday  – 9:00 AM – until DUSK
  • The only exception is league shoots which must end by 10:00 pm

Rifle Range

The “Big Bore” rifle range consists of 85 feet of covered firing area. There are currently ten benches under this roof. The roof was designed and installed for noise suppression purposes.

There are target holders at 25 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards, and 200 yards from the firing line. Only paper/cardboard targets are permitted. No bottles, cans, silhouettes, etc., are permitted.

All caliber weapons and all action types including black powder are allowed.  The exceptions to this rule are fully automatic weapons are totally banned from all Club property and 50 cal. BMG or 460 Barrett Cal. are not allowed.

Guests are permitted to shoot at the rifle range only at a league shoot or a club-sponsored shoot. A release form must be signed by all guests shooting in Club sponsored activities. An orange hat or vest/coat must be worn at all times while at the range. Ear and Eye protection must be worn by everyone on the range.

Rifle Range Rules:

  1. Always wear a blaze orange hat or vest, and eye and ear protection.
  2. All members must sign in prior to shooting.
  3.  If you break a board you must remove it and take it to the rear of the pit it on the ground and get a new board and place it in the front
  4. All brass is to be picked up and placed in the tin pails
  5. All firearms must be cased or actions open when being transported on the range.
  6. Targets must be mounted on the horizontal boards provided with the bulls-eye between the upper and lower boards.
  7. Paper targets only. No exploding targets of any kind!!!
  8. All firearms are to be unloaded and actions open prior to going down range. Muzzleloaders will have the powder removed from the flash pan or primers removed from the nipple or breech plug.
  9. When the firing line is called all clear, strobe lights are to be turned on prior to going down range. When the range is clear and the firing line is going hot the strobe lights are to be turned off prior to shooting.
  10. NEVER HANDLE OR TOUCH A FIREARM WHILE PEOPLE ARE DOWN RANGE PERIOD!!!!!!!! Not even to case or uncase it. 
  11. No armor piercing or penetrating ammo. No tracer ammo. No 50 BMG or 416 Barrett ammo.
  12. No full auto or bump firing.
  13. All shots are to be shot into target impact areas.
  14. All shooters must shoot into the target areas in front of them. NO SHOOTING ACROSS THE RANGE!!!
  15. No patterning or shooting of shotgun shells on the range. Rifled slugs and sabots are permitted.
  16. No children under 16 on the range unless SUPERVISED by an adult at all times!!!
  17. No guests are allowed to shoot on the range at any time.
  18. 200 yard range pit is for authorized personnel only

A few Reminders

Shotguns must be patterned on the patterning range by trap number 3.

Fisherman, please do not park in front of the rifle range, park over by the wood piles.

All shooters must sign- in prior to shooting and sign- out when done shooting.

As a reminder to all members, the minimum age for unsupervised shooters is 18 years of age. This applies to rifles, shotguns, handguns and archery. Anyone under the age of 18 participating in any of these actions must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Key Dates

Starting in April through October every 2nd Tuesday of the month will be the 200-yard rim-fire match. The start time is 6:30 pm.

Also, a reminder to fishermen not to park in front of the rifle range. Park over by the wood piles.

A mandatory sign-in/sign-out policy is in place.
